Jason Koon walked away with his second WSOP bracelet and $1,968,927 after winning Event #32: $50,000 High Roller. He entered the final day as chip leader and held on to defeat a field of 171 entries. The payout was the largest so far among the first 31 events of the 2025 series.

Koon’s recent form has been strong, with over $6.5 million in winnings since May, including a $3.4 million victory in a $150,000 Triton Montenegro event. His career total now stands at nearly $66 million, placing him third on poker’s all-time money list.

“I just play when I want to now. I’m very committed to that,” Koon said. “My family’s with me if I travel. So I’m going to travel less, and when I play, I’m going to be on my A-game… and whenever I show up, I’m ready to do the thing.”

Koon won his first WSOP bracelet in 2021 in the $25,000 Heads-Up Championship. While his current focus is on the high roller circuit, he still values his WSOP experiences.

“I really love it,” he added. “Whenever I was in college… I was just watching WSOP all the time on ESPN… I come back, and I may not feel that same buzz anymore, but I see young people here that are excited to play—that makes me really happy.”

Nick Schulman Captures Seventh Bracelet in Event #30 $10K No-Limit 2-7 Championship

Nick Schulman picked up his seventh WSOP bracelet after winning Event #30: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship. He outlasted a 233-player field and battled Darren Elias heads-up for nearly eight hours without a dinner break to take home $497,356.

The prize is the largest ever awarded in a deuce-to-seven tournament. Schulman had previously won this same event in 2009 and 2012. He also finished second in 2015 and fifth in 2011. His total live earnings now stand at $23.8 million.

“I’ve just been around so many great players, and I’ve just kind of seen them all,” Schulman said. “It’s my favorite game to play.”

He spoke highly of Elias, calling him one of the best in the game. “Darren is kind of the best at this game, you know?” Schulman said. “It was really an honor to play with him.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins a tournament every summer for the next six years,” he added. “It’s all kind of crazy… I’m honored to somehow come out on top.”

Schulman is one of only 13 players to win seven WSOP bracelets. Along with his WSOP record, he also won the 2005 WPT World Poker Finals at Foxwoods for nearly $2.2 million.
