Yosef Fox pulled off a huge win at the 2025 World Series of Poker, taking down Event #9: $10,000 Mystery Bounty No-Limit Hold’em and walking away with a combined $1,064,333. Not only did he win the event for $729,333 from the main prize pool, but he also drew the largest available mystery bounty—worth $250,000—on top of another $85,000 in smaller bounties.
Good to know
- This was Fox’s first WSOP bracelet and by far his largest career cash.
- The mystery bounty prize pool hit $1.84 million from 616 total entries.
- Fox’s son Jorden, a 2019 WSOP winner, cheered him on from the rail.
The 58-year-old from Monticello, Wisconsin had never cashed more than $47,000 before this event. That changed quickly during the final day, where Fox stormed past the remaining players. His run was especially poetic—six years after supporting his son Jorden’s bracelet win, Fox got to experience the same moment with roles reversed.
Held from June 1 to 3 at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas, the event drew 616 entries, generating nearly $3.9 million for the main prize pool and $1.84 million for the bounty portion. Only 130 players advanced to Day 2, where mystery bounty envelopes started flying. Three $100,000 bounties went to Mike Moncek, Frank Brannan, and Myles Mullaly, all of whom reached the final stages of the tournament.
Big names made deep runs, including Shannon Shorr (32nd), Mike Gorodinsky (22nd), Dario Sammartino (16th), and Joe Cada (7th). But Fox grabbed control on the final day, starting among the top five stacks. He picked up steam after cracking Patrick Kennedy’s kings with pocket jacks, improving to a full house and then immediately drawing the $250,000 bounty envelope.
After eliminating Kennedy, Fox stayed aggressive. Richard Green exited in fourth, and James Mendoza, who had led earlier in the day, was knocked out in third after losing a preflop race to Alejandro Peinado.
Heads-up between Fox and Peinado started nearly even, but Fox quickly took control. The final hand came down to Fox’s JJ

. The runout secured his bracelet, while Peinado earned $486,192 for second place.
With this win, Fox joins his son in the club of WSOP bracelet holders—and does so with one of the biggest cashes of the 2025 series so far.
