Veikkaus Owned Fennica Gaming Approved as Supplier in UAE Market

Fennica Gaming, a B2B supplier owned by Veikkaus, has received a Gaming Related Vendor Licence from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) in the United Arab Emirates. The company now joins a select group of online gaming suppliers officially licensed in the region, alongside Aristocrat and EQL Games.

Good to know

  • Fennica is now licensed in 15 countries across three continents.
  • The UAE licence allows the company to offer casino content and partner with local operators.
  • The GCGRA, which has gone live in July of 2024, has approved 10 suppliers so far as the UAE builds out its regulated market.

The approval gives Fennica permission to operate under the UAE’s regulated gaming system and partner with licensed operators. Through its games-as-a-service (GaaS) model, Fennica delivers casino titles, backend systems, and a cloud-based platform. The offering includes slots, video poker, instant-win content, and speciality games, all built on Google Cloud.

The UAE licence adds to Fennica’s growing global footprint. Just last month, it was also approved in Sweden and Ontario. With this latest addition, the company now has operations in key markets including the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Spain.

“Receiving the Gaming Related Vendor License from the GCGRA is a significant step for Fennica Gaming as we continue to grow our global presence. The UAE represents a new dynamic market and a possibility to enter to a new continent and new markets. We are excited to contribute to the development of its regulated gaming sector with our trusted and innovative solutions.”

UAE market continues to expand

The GCGRA has been steadily building its list of licensed suppliers. Last week, Scientific Games and Random State received clearance to participate in the region’s lottery space. Other major gaming and payment providers—such as Novomatic, IGT Global Services, and Aristocrat Technologies Europe—have already secured licences.

Fennica’s approval brings the total number of licensed suppliers to 10, reflecting growing interest from international firms as the UAE builds out its regulated gaming structure.
