Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel Stays Open During $210 Million Overhaul

Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel is undergoing a major transformation that could reshape the entertainment scene on Long Island. Located in Islandia, New York, the casino has kicked off a $210 million upgrade that will nearly double its footprint and expand its offerings. A recent video shared on Instagram offered a glimpse into the construction activity already underway.

Good to know

  • The expansion will bring the total number of video lottery terminals to 2,000.
  • Completion is expected by spring 2026, with the casino staying open throughout.
  • Suffolk OTB says the project will add 800+ construction jobs and 125 permanent roles.

The new space will stretch over 300,000 square feet and include everything from a conference center and concert venue to an exhibition hall and additional dining options. A VIP lounge with an outdoor terrace is also in the works, along with hundreds more hotel rooms and more parking for visitors. Gaming space will increase to accommodate the doubling of video lottery terminals.

Aurora Contractors is managing the project, which broke ground in spring 2024. The company is working to complete the expansion without shutting down the casino. That means guests can still play, dine, and stay at Jake’s 58 while construction continues in the background.

Jake’s 58 originally opened in 2017 in a repurposed Marriott Hotel on the Long Island Expressway’s North Service Road. Suffolk Off-Track Betting (OTB) took over operations and now runs the casino. Former New York State Senator Phil Boyle is president of Suffolk OTB and is overseeing the expansion project.
