Online betting platforms in Brazil experienced a massive spike in traffic during the first quarter of 2025. According to data from Aposta Legal, visits to betting sites grew by 90% compared to the previous quarter, thanks to the rollout of iGaming regulation at the beginning of the year.
Good to know
- Brazil’s online betting sites saw over 5 billion visits in Q1 2025.
- The rise followed the introduction of iGaming regulation in January.
- Betano topped the traffic charts with 1.1 billion visits during the quarter.
January kicked things off with 1.7 billion visits under the new framework. Although February traffic dipped slightly to 1.4 billion, the numbers bounced back to 1.8 billion in March — setting a new monthly high. Overall, more than 5 billion visits were recorded across the quarter, which breaks down to over 650 visits per second.
The data suggests that regulation has not only drawn more public interest but also triggered increased marketing efforts by major operators. Many companies ramped up spending on advertising and struck new partnerships to build visibility in the growing market.
Betano pulled in the most traffic during the period, with 1.1 billion visits. That figure included a 25% jump between February and March. Superbet and bet365 also performed strongly, ranking among the three most visited platforms.
In contrast to the steadier figures seen at the end of 2024 — 2.55 billion visits in Q3 and 2.66 billion in Q4 — the start of 2025 marked a clear acceleration. The numbers point to a newly energized market, shaped by clearer rules and rising consumer engagement.
Aposta Legal, the source of the data, was launched in 2019. It focuses on providing betting information and promoting responsible gambling practices across Brazil and other markets.
