Pennsylvania Sets New iGaming Record in March 2025

March 2025 brought in strong results for Pennsylvania’s gaming industry, especially in iGaming. According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), the state saw record highs in both total gaming revenue and online gaming revenue.

Total gaming revenue reached $574.5 million, up 3.6% from March 2024. Online gaming, however, stood out with $238.2 million, a jump of 24.7% compared to the same month last year. The figure also beat the previous record of $223.7 million set in December 2024.

A closer look at the numbers shows that iGaming slots were the key driver of this growth. These slots brought in $179.5 million, which marks a 32.5% year-over-year increase.

Hollywood Casino topped all Pennsylvania gaming properties. It pulled in $107.2 million in total revenue, up 21.6% from last year. It also led iGaming with $90.7 million, up 25.5%. Valley Forge Casino Resort and Rivers Casino Philadelphia followed in the online segment with $64.8 million and $38.6 million respectively.

In contrast, sports betting took a hit. Revenue from sports wagering fell 40.7% year-over-year to $27 million, even though the total handle went up by 5.3%, reaching $842.9 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort and Hollywood Casino at the Meadows led the way in sports betting, collecting $9.4 million and $8.8 million respectively.

Retail slots remained a strong contributor, generating $222.5 million in revenue, though it dipped 2.4% from the prior year. Parx Casino led this category with $34.4 million, slightly up by 0.2%. Meanwhile, Wind Creek Bethlehem and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh brought in $25.8 million and $24.3 million, despite seeing declines of 5.8% and 3.6% year-over-year.

Valley Forge Casino Resort and Parx Casino brought in $86.2 million and $58.9 million in total gaming revenue, though both were down from the same period last year.
