Kambi Reports Strong Tribal Sports Betting Growth in 2025

The Kambi Group has published its 2025 Tribal sports betting report, which shows remarkable growth from the previous year. The overall number of bets put increased by 72%, while the betting handle increased by 51%, according to the report.

Tribal network on-property sportsbooks also saw a spike, with a 54% increase in handle over the prior year. Online gambling grew steadily as well, increasing 32% in 2024 compared to the previous year.

Kambi emphasized the impact of its partnerships with Tribal operators, stating, “Through partnerships with Tribal operators, Kambi has seen firsthand how a Kambi-powered sportsbook drives engagement and boosts overall property performance, leading to increased sales in areas such as food and beverage and growth in rewards memberships.”

Event-Based Betting and Player Engagement on the Rise

During important athletic events, tribal casinos saw a considerable increase in betting activity. Major events including the Super Bowl, NBA Playoffs, and March Madness drove a 74% increase in wagers at on-property sportsbooks over the previous year.

March Madness betting increased 49% year over year, NBA Playoffs wagers increased by 12%, and the Super Bowl alone produced a 75% rise in on-property transaction.

Kambi also highlighted the role of cash-out features in player retention, stating, “having a quality cash out function can be an important tool for keeping bettors engaged. On the Kambi network, nearly half of online bettors that cashed their bets out reinvest the money in a new bet within five minutes.”

Throughout 2024, football led all sports in wagering activity, accounting for 31% of total bets. Basketball followed at 29%, with baseball at 20%. Soccer made up 6%, while ice hockey and other sports comprised the remaining 14%.

Since opening its Kambi-powered sportsbook in May 2024, Potawatomi Casino Hotel has grown significantly. According to Justin Arnett, the property’s VP of Digital Gaming, the number of rewards members at the casino increased by 154% in the past year. While average monthly visits per member increased by 30%, total property visits increased by 19%.

The Kambi network keeps gaining more tribal partners. After signing contracts with Kambi in 2024, Wind Creek Hospitality in Illinois and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma are presently in “pre-launch.”
