Aldi Expands National Lottery Access with Self-Checkout Integration

To make buying lottery tickets even easier, Aldi and Allwyn, the National Lottery operator, have extended their partnership. Customers may now purchase National Lottery draw games straight from self-checkouts at Aldi supermarkets throughout the United Kingdom for the first time.

Aldi has been selling National Lottery tickets at manned checkouts since 2021. All self-checkout users will now be able to access these purchases thanks to the most recent rollout. With more than 1,050 locations already, the fourth-largest supermarket in the UK is one of the first to introduce this service. The full implementation, which would simplify the procedure for customers, is anticipated by spring of this year.

Easy Access to Lottery Games

Through the self-checkout system, customers can purchase Lucky Dip tickets for Lotto, EuroMillions, Thunderball, and Set For Life. Additionally, those using a National Lottery Fast Pay card can scan their card to generate a customized ticket effortlessly.

Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi, emphasized the company’s dedication to enhancing customer experience: “We’re always looking for ways to improve the shopping experience for our customers, which is why we’ve made it even easier to enter the National Lottery while picking up essentials at our self-checkouts.”
