Missouri’s riverboat casinos made $140 million in January, marking a successful start to 2025. In comparison to the same month in 2024, this was a 3.5% gain, according to the Missouri Gaming Commission. However, compared to December 2024, the amount was around $25 million less.
Top-Performing Casinos in January
Among the 13 casinos operating in Missouri, Ameristar Casino Resort St. Charles led the pack, bringing in over $22.3 million in revenue, reflecting a 4% year-over-year increase. River City Casino in St. Louis followed with $19.2 million, while Hollywood Casino St. Louis recorded $18.7 million.
Only four casinos in the state experienced revenue declines compared to January 2024. Bally’s Kansas City and Horseshoe St. Louis each reported a 2% drop, earning $9.2 million and $10.7 million, respectively.
Missouri’s casinos were a major source of state and municipal money in addition to gaming income. In January alone, they gave $2.9 million to local governments and $26.5 million to the state’s education budget. Since these payments were first gathered by the Missouri Gaming Commission, riverboat casinos have contributed around $8.25 billion to public services and education.
When Century Casino Caruthersville opened its doors in November 2024, the state’s casino sector grew. The $51.9 million arena, which was built, contributed to Missouri’s booming gambling industry by expanding entertainment alternatives and stimulating local economic growth.
With consistent income growth and ongoing contributions to state initiatives, Missouri’s casino business continues to play a significant role in the state’s economy.
