Missouri Casinos Generate $140M in January, Boosting State Revenue

Missouri’s riverboat casinos made $140 million in January, marking a successful start to 2025. In comparison to the same month in 2024, this was a 3.5% gain, according to the Missouri Gaming Commission. However, compared to December 2024, the amount was around $25 million less.

Top-Performing Casinos in January

Among the 13 casinos operating in Missouri, Ameristar Casino Resort St. Charles led the pack, bringing in over $22.3 million in revenue, reflecting a 4% year-over-year increase. River City Casino in St. Louis followed with $19.2 million, while Hollywood Casino St. Louis recorded $18.7 million.

Only four casinos in the state experienced revenue declines compared to January 2024. Bally’s Kansas City and Horseshoe St. Louis each reported a 2% drop, earning $9.2 million and $10.7 million, respectively.

Missouri’s casinos were a major source of state and municipal money in addition to gaming income. In January alone, they gave $2.9 million to local governments and $26.5 million to the state’s education budget. Since these payments were first gathered by the Missouri Gaming Commission, riverboat casinos have contributed around $8.25 billion to public services and education.

When Century Casino Caruthersville opened its doors in November 2024, the state’s casino sector grew. The $51.9 million arena, which was built, contributed to Missouri’s booming gambling industry by expanding entertainment alternatives and stimulating local economic growth.
