Illinois Casinos Generate $149.3M in January Revenue

According to the Illinois Gaming Board, the state’s casinos brought in a healthy $149.3 million in January adjusted gross receipts (AGR). With $108.8 million in revenue, slot machines accounted for the majority of this. A strong start to the year was made by the $35.1 million that table games contributed to the total.

Rivers Casino Takes the Lead with $38.8M in Revenue

Rivers Casino stood out as the top performer, generating $38.8 million, which accounted for over 25% of the state’s total revenue for the month. Wind Creek followed closely behind with just under $13 million, while Hard Rock Casino Rockford brought in $11.3 million. The latter, having opened its permanent location last August, saw a slight dip in earnings, nearly $1 million less than the previous month.

Revenue at Bally’s Chicago, which is presently a temporary casino, was $9.1 million in January. By 2026, it is anticipated that the corporation will have a permanent casino location. When it is finished, Bally’s will have 4,000 gaming spots, a hotel with 500 rooms, a theater with 3,000 seats, an exhibition space, and ten dining options.

The total tax revenue from Illinois casinos for the month was $25.4 million. Of this, local governments received $8.7 million and the state received $16.7 million.
