On February 6, the Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino officially opened, marking the expansion of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s gaming presence. For the tribe and the Lake Okeechobee area, this new addition to the portfolio represents an exciting milestone. Highlights of the event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and live performances, which included an electrifying rock performance by Lynyrd Skynyrd at the end and a country music set by John Anderson at the beginning.
A Proud Moment for the Seminole Tribe and Local Community
The opening of Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino is a proud achievement, according to General Manager Marty Johns. “This grand opening is a proud moment for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, the Brighton Seminole Reservation, and the entire region,” he said. “We are excited to welcome guests to a new era of gaming, dining, and entertainment that will enhance tourism and community growth.”
As the first hotel on the Brighton Seminole Reservation, this $72,000 sq ft complex features 100 guest rooms across four floors. The venue has already become one of the area’s largest employers, creating over 500 jobs in the region.
Councilman Larry Howard of the Brighton Reservation spoke about the broader impact: “Today marks a historic moment for the Brighton Reservation and the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The grand opening of the Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino is not just about a new building, it’s about growth, opportunity, and a bright future for our community.”
The new property offers a sprawling 38,000 sq ft casino floor, boasting 640 slot machines and 18 tables for blackjack, craps, roulette, and other house-banked card games. For those seeking a more exclusive experience, there is also a high-limit gaming area with 42 slot machines and four table games.
In addition, Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino has designed a smoke-free gaming space, which features 104 slot machines for guests seeking a clean environment.
Seminole Tribe leadership views this development as a reflection of their commitment to preserving their heritage while also embracing future growth and opportunity.
