Full Year Report Shows Ohio Casinos Near 1 Billion in Revenue

The Ohio Casino Control Commission released the FY2024 revenue numbers for the state’s casinos. According to the report, the casinos generated a total of $1bn over the full year, which shows a decrease of 0.6% compared to the previous year.

During December 2024, casinos posted nearly $89.2m in revenue. Although this figure is down 2.8% from December 2023, the month still ranked as the second-highest in terms of revenue for the year.

Breaking down the December numbers further, slot machines produced $63.8m in revenue—a decline of 3% year-over-year. Meanwhile, table games brought in just under $25.3m, a decrease of 2.3% compared to last December. Notably, table game earnings have been on the rise since dropping to $21.8m in June 2024.

Looking at the full year, slot games accounted for $732.8m in revenue, marking a 0.5% increase over last year. In contrast, table games generated $276.1m, a drop of 3.5% from the prior period.

The Commission noted that four properties submit their casino revenue reports: Jack Cleveland Casino, Hollywood Columbus, Hard Rock Cincinnati, and Hollywood Toledo. Among these, Hollywood Casino led with $279.1m in FY2024 revenue, while Jack Cleveland Casino followed with $258.5m.

Additionally, March 2024 recorded the highest monthly revenue, with casinos earning nearly $94.8m, including $69.1m from slot machines.
