Nevada Sets Record Gaming Win for Fourth Consecutive Year in 2024

Nevada continues to break records in the gaming sector, reporting a record-breaking total gaming win of over $15.6 billion for FY2024. This marks the fourth consecutive year of growth for the state, with a modest increase of 0.6% compared to the previous year. The rise was largely driven by slot machines, which accounted for $10.5 billion of the total, a 2.3% increase year-over-year.

Slot Machines Lead Growth

While slot machines enjoyed a strong performance, table games saw a decline. Table games win for FY2024 dropped by 2.8%, generating just under $5.1 billion. This decrease was more evident in the Las Vegas Strip area, where the total gaming win dropped by 1% year-over-year to $8.8 billion. However, the Strip still set a new record for slot machine revenue, which saw a rise of 2.1% to $4.9 billion.

Despite a decline in table games, the Las Vegas Strip contributed significantly to Nevada’s overall win in FY2024. However, its performance was not as strong as in previous years when it had accounted for more than 90% of the state’s total gaming growth.

There were also good results in December 2024. With $1.46 billion in total gaming wins, the state’s casinos set a new monthly record, up 2% from December 2023. A significant portion of this came from slot machines, which contributed $981.1 million, a startling 14.4% rise over the previous year.

However, there were difficulties with table games in December. Despite a notable decline of about 16.5% from the previous year, they were nevertheless able to contribute nearly $480 million of the entire gaming victory.

Other areas, such as the Carson Valley, Mesquite, and Downtown Las Vegas, also achieve record-breaking FY2024.
