The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) is making its way back to Harrah’s Pompano Beach. From January 30 to February 10, the popular poker series will offer a total of $2.8 million in guaranteed prize pools, attracting players with a packed schedule of 18 WSOPC gold ring events and several satellite tournaments.
Key Events and Highlights
The festival kicks off with the Double Stack Opener, a $400 No-Limit Hold’em tournament featuring a 40,000 starting stack and a $50,000 prize pool guarantee. Players can look forward to a wide range of events, including:
- A $600 Mini-Main Event with a $400,000 guarantee
- A $1,100 Mystery Bounty tournament offering $250,000 in guaranteed prizes
- The $1,700 Main Event with a $1 million guarantee, the centerpiece of the series
Several tournaments will offer multiple Day 1 flights to accommodate the expected turnout. For instance, the Main Event includes two starting flights, while the $400 Monster Stack will feature three.
Special Formats for a Variety of Players
The series also caters to players looking for unique formats. A restricted-field Ladies event and Seniors event provide more focused competition. Additionally, the newly introduced 40/40/40 Event targets players aged 40 and older, offering 40,000 starting stacks and 40-minute blinds. Fans of Omaha poker can join two dedicated events: pot-limit Omaha and Big O.
Satellites and Preparations
Daily satellite tournaments at the Harrah’s Pompano Beach poker room offer players the chance to secure seats for the main events at a lower cost. This is an excellent opportunity for players at all levels to participate in the action.
Building on Past Success
The WSOPC has a strong track record at Harrah’s Pompano Beach. Last October, Ian Cohen claimed the Main Event title, taking home $193,100. With higher guarantees and a diverse tournament schedule, the upcoming series looks set to draw even larger fields and intense competition.
Whether aiming for a WSOPC gold ring or chasing a share of the $2.8 million in guarantees, players have plenty to look forward to in this series.
