Arizona Benefits Fund Receives Over $42.5M in Tribal Gaming Contributions for Q2 2025

Tribal gaming made a substantial financial contribution to the Arizona Benefits Fund in the second quarter of 2025, according to the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG). With the receipt of more than $42.5 million, the fund achieved yet another significant milestone in assisting important state projects.

The ADG emphasized the important sectors that these monies support, such as wildlife conservation, tourism, healthcare, and education. With about $21.2 million, education and instructional enhancement was the biggest beneficiary. After that, trauma and emergency care secured over $10.6 million.

Additional funding included $3.8 million for ADG operations, $3 million for tourism and wildlife protection, and nearly $900,000 for programs that treat compulsive gambling.

These contributions exemplify how Tribal gaming revenues are directed toward critical state needs, reinforcing Arizona’s commitment to community development and sustainability.

A Strong Partnership Driving Success

ADG Director Jackie Johnson acknowledged the importance of the state-Tribal collaboration. She stated, “Strong collaboration and partnership between the state and Arizona’s Tribal communities continue to drive the growth of the tribal gaming industry.”

“With consecutive record quarters of tribal contributions to the Arizona Benefits Fund in FY2025, these achievements highlight the success of our shared commitment. Since FY2004, tribal contributions have exceeded $2.3bn, benefiting the state, its cities, towns, and counties and underscoring the value of the tribal-state partnership.”

Under the Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact, Tribes operating casinos contribute a percentage of their Class III gross gaming revenue to the fund. The Arizona Benefits Fund receives 88% of these contributions, with the remainder allocated to cities, towns, and counties.
