Mixed Results Across Nevada’s Regions
Clark County, Nevada’s largest contributor, generated over $1.1 billion in gaming revenue but also experienced a 2.2% year-over-year drop. The Las Vegas Strip reported a total gaming win of $692.1 million, a 3.1% decline, marking the fourth consecutive month of year-over-year decreases. Downtown Las Vegas fared worse, with an 11% decline, bringing its revenue to $86.8 million.
While most regions faced declines, South Lake Tahoe stood out as a rare success story, achieving an 18.7% increase in revenue, totaling $20.8 million for October. However, its FYTD gaming win of $99.9 million still reflected a slight 1.4% drop.
Carson Valley also reported a modest 1.9% growth for October, earning $11.5 million. Notably, it remains the only Nevada market to report a FYTD increase, with a 1.2% rise to $46.5 million.
Washoe County recorded the second-highest gaming win in Nevada for October, earning $91.3 million. Despite this, it saw a 4.9% year-over-year decline, led by Reno, which brought in $68.2 million, down 3.1%.
Elko County also faced challenges, with gaming revenue falling 6.4% to $31.8 million for October. Its FYTD total reached $131.1 million, representing a 3.1% decline compared to last year.
Nevada’s October performance highlighted contrasting trends across its regions. These mixed results underline the challenges the state faces in maintaining its record-breaking performance from 2023.
