Fraudulent advertisements are targeting Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, through social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. These fake ads promise a $1,000 welcome bonus and 100 free spins, mimicking the casino’s branding with its logo, images, and slot machine tickets from its website.
Casino Denies Connection to Scam
Mary Cracchiolo, head of public relations for Beau Rivage, confirmed the ads are fake and unrelated to the casino. “These ads have zero links to Beau Rivage,” she stated. Legal teams are investigating the source of these misleading posts. According to Mississippi Gaming Commission Director Jay McDaniel, scams like this are increasingly common and often originate from outside the country.
Online gambling remains prohibited in Mississippi. Beau Rivage offers the BetMGM app, enabling guests to place bets on-site. This app, launched in 2021, works exclusively within the casino premises.
The fake ads direct users to unrelated sites requiring identity verification and fees to access games. Experts caution consumers to scrutinize such ads, noting red flags like unofficial links, altered names, or ads absent from the casino’s official channels.
Authorities urge vigilance as they work to combat these scams. Staying informed and verifying claims can help users avoid financial losses.
