In October, the casino business in Missouri had a minor increase in revenue. The Missouri Gaming Commission reports that the combined adjusted gross revenue (AGR) from the state’s casinos was close to $151.4 million, a 1% increase over the prior year. The data also reveals a little increase from month to month, with October’s numbers increasing by about $1.4 million over September.
Top Performers in October
Ameristar St. Charles led the state’s casino rankings, reporting the highest revenue for October at nearly $23.6 million. Hollywood Casino followed closely behind, claiming the second spot with a total of around $21.5 million in revenue. However, Hollywood narrowly outperformed River City, which reported about $21.4 million in revenue, by just over $100,000. This close competition was mirrored in September, where River City had surpassed Hollywood by a similar margin.
While Missouri’s casinos have experienced a 1% increase in AGR compared to last year’s figures, the state’s year-to-date AGR stands at nearly $620 million, reflecting a 2% decline from last year’s total. Despite the slight dip, the state’s casinos continue to make substantial contributions to Missouri’s economy, with the industry contributing $31.7 million in taxes last month alone.
