Slot and table game income at Illinois casinos totaled $136.7 million in October, according to data released by the Illinois Gaming Board. According to this breakdown, table games contributed an additional $32.7 million to the total revenue, while slot machines generated $104 million.
With $41.2 million in revenue for October, Rivers Casino in Des Plaines took first place. This amount accounted for about one-third of Illinois’ monthly casino earnings. With $11 million in revenue, Hard Rock Casino Rockford also made a substantial contribution, albeit a $2 million decrease from its September results. Hard Rock Rockford opened its new permanent location in late August, and October marked the second full month of operations there.
Bally’s Chicago, currently operating a temporary facility until its permanent site opens, added $10.7 million to the state’s overall casino earnings in October. The final Bally’s Chicago location, expected by 2026, promises a 4,000-position gaming floor, a 500-room hotel, a 3,000-seat theater, an exhibition hall, and ten restaurants.
Tax Contributions Bolster State and Local Budgets
October also saw Illinois casinos collectively contribute nearly $44 million in tax payments. Over $34.9 million went directly to the state, while local jurisdictions received an additional $8.9 million. This substantial tax revenue aids in supporting various public services and infrastructure projects across Illinois.
With new venues like Hard Rock Rockford and upcoming major projects like Bally’s permanent Chicago location, Illinois’ casino sector continues to expand, providing both entertainment and significant economic benefits.
