Wind Creek Bethlehem’s Category II casino license has been extended by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), guaranteeing the Northampton County-based casino’s continued operation for a further five years. Following a comprehensive review by the PGCB, which verified that Wind Creek complied with all regulations, the license renewal decision was made. The unanimous approval of this ruling demonstrated Wind Creek’s adherence to Pennsylvania’s stringent gaming laws.
The PGCB explained, “The decision to renew the license was based on a process utilized by the Board that enables both the operator and the public to provide information relevant to the renewal decision.” Wind Creek Bethlehem is part of the larger Wind Creek Hospitality portfolio, a casino and hospitality chain owned by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Alabama. Besides Bethlehem, Wind Creek operates various other casino locations, including Wind Creek Atmore, Wind Creek Aruba, Wind Creek Curacao, and Wa She Shu Casino in Nevada, establishing a strong presence in both the U.S. and the Caribbean.
PGCB Penalizes Stadium Casino for Self-Exclusion Violations
In other PGCB actions, Stadium Casino RE, LLC was fined $50,000 for allowing four individuals from the Self-Exclusion list to gamble at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia. This fine came following a recommendation from the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement. Pennsylvania’s gaming laws mandate that casinos must prevent self-excluded players from accessing gaming facilities or related services. Under the regulations, these individuals must be refused all gaming privileges, including activities such as check cashing and cash advances.
The PGCB is Pennsylvania’s main gaming regulating body, having been established in 2004. Slot machines, table games, sports betting, iGaming, video gaming terminals (VGTs), and fantasy sports are just a few of the many gambling-related activities it regulates throughout the state. The PGCB seeks to promote responsible gambling and fair play across the state with its extensive oversight.
The PGCB highlights its dedication to respecting Pennsylvania’s gaming laws and giving responsible gambling practices top priority by vigorously enforcing these standards, as evidenced in the case of Stadium Casino. The board’s commitment to maintaining a law-abiding and regulated gaming environment throughout Pennsylvania’s casinos is demonstrated by both the license renewal and the fine.
