The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has announced a new event for 2024: APT Phu Quoc, taking place from November 8 to 17. Set on the scenic Vietnamese island, the series is happening shortly after the APT Manila 2024 wraps up.
This year’s APT Phu Quoc guarantees over VND 44 billion (approximately USD 1.7 million) in total prize pools. The 10-day event will take place at the luxurious Corona Resort & Casino, offering players an opportunity to compete in various tournaments and vie for substantial prizes.
The highlight of the series is the APT Main Event, running from November 11 to 16, with a guarantee of VND 25 billion (~USD 1 million). This is the APT’s third time in Phu Quoc, and it marks a notable increase in prize money. Compared to 2023, this year’s Main Event guarantee has almost doubled. Last year, Jacque Ramsden from the UK topped a field of 507 players to win VND 2.3 billion (USD 99K).
The festival kicks off with the Vietnam National Cup, which runs from November 8 to 10. The event features a buy-in of VND 9 million (~USD 360) and guarantees a prize pool of VND 5 billion (~USD 201K). This three-day event is divided into six flights, allowing plenty of chances for players to advance.
The action-packed opening weekend also includes the APT Super High Roller on November 9, which guarantees VND 3 billion (~USD 120K). Additionally, the Sunday Super Stack is set for November 10, with a guaranteed prize pool of VND 1.5 billion (~USD 60K).
Aside from the Main Event, several other tournaments will feature attractive prize pools. The Zodiac Classic will run from November 14 to 15, offering a VND 2.5 billion (~USD 100K) guarantee. The Double Stack follows from November 15 to 16 with a similar VND 2.5 billion (~USD 100K) guarantee. The Mini Main Event takes place from November 16 to 17, with a VND 1.5 billion (~USD 60K) prize pool.
The festival will also host daily high-roller tournaments. Among them are the Baby Superstar Challenge, with a buy-in of VND 120 million (~USD 4,825) on November 15, and the APT High Roller, scheduled for November 16 to 17, featuring a VND 2.5 billion (~USD 100K) guarantee.
Below is a summary of key events scheduled for APT Phu Quoc 2024:
APT Taipei is currently underway, with its series running until Sunday October 7. Once APT Manila concludes, all eyes will be on Phu Quoc for another exciting poker series!
