Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has announced the immediate appointment of Andreas Söneby to its GiG Platform Board of Directors. His addition comes at a crucial time as GiG continues to expand its influence in the gaming industry.
With leadership positions at major companies like Kindred Group, Unibet, and Kambi, Andreas Söneby has proven his ability to drive innovation and manage complex operations. He is a valuable addition to the GiG Platform Board due to his extensive background in gaming and technology. As Chief Information Officer at Kambi, he oversaw a team of over 300 professionals and managed substantial transaction growth. Previously, he served as CTO and IT Director at Unibet, further demonstrating his expertise in delivering impactful results. Most notably, Söneby was instrumental in Kambi’s establishment as an independent entity within the Unibet Group.
Beyond the gaming industry, Söneby has held executive positions at companies such as White Hat Gaming and Instabox. He also serves as a Venture Partner at Industrifonden, where he continues to influence the future of IT and technology across various sectors.
Strengthening GiG’s Platform & Sportsbook Vertical
Petter Nylander, Chairman of GiG Software PLC, expressed confidence in Söneby’s ability to contribute to GiG’s growth. “We are delighted to welcome Andreas to our GiG Platform Board. His deep industry knowledge and leadership experience will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our position as a leading player in the gaming industry. We are confident that Andreas’s insights and expertise will bring significant value to our board and to the company as a whole,” Nylander stated.
Söneby joins the GiG Platform Board at a pivotal moment as the company continues to broaden its offerings and solidify its market presence. He replaces Tomasz Juroszek, who has stepped down from the board. The current GiG Platform Board, temporarily a committee dedicated to the Platform & Sportsbook vertical until the spin-off, now consists of Petter Nylander (Chair), Hessi Mocca, Mikael Riese Harstad, Nicolas Adlercreutz, and Andreas Söneby.
