By adding to its GuardDog fund, Underdog Fantasy (Underdog) is reaffirming its dedication to ethical gaming. The purpose of this new investment is to help the Game Safety Institute (GSI), a significant institution tasked with improving product safety in the gaming sector. The goal of GSI is to create thorough platforms for product intelligence that enhance the evaluation of hazards related to various game genres. Moreover, GSI concentrates on providing players with tools and education to enable them to better control their gameplay.
GSI Co-Founder Sarah Ramanauskas highlighted the growing need for improved product safety measures. “The majority of investment and innovation in RG over the past 15 years has been centered on solutions focused on the player. As these initiatives start to mature, we anticipate increased regulatory and industry focus on product safety,” Ramanauskas stated. She also pointed out a recent survey of global operators, noting that while most recognize the importance of product safety, only a third are satisfied with their current approach to understanding product risk.
Underdog’s Continued Commitment
Underdog started promoting innovation in ethical gaming in 2023 with its first $1 million investment in the GuardDog innovation fund. The fund has made its second major investment through its cooperation with GSI. GuardDog ensures that these efforts have the direction they require to thrive by offering supported enterprises mentorship and assistance from specialists in responsible gaming, in addition to financial support.
Adam Warrington, Underdog’s VP of Responsible Gaming, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “Our clear aim with GuardDog is to support and help scale innovation in responsible gaming, and the Game Safety Institute is precisely the type of partner we look for. Imaginative, with a commitment to rigorous testing and research to develop real, actionable solutions to enhance player safety across a wide range of products.” He added that Underdog views responsible gaming not as a challenge but as an opportunity to create a safer and more responsible ecosystem for both operators and players.
