Donovan Dean has once again claimed victory in the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Harrah’s Cherokee main event. The Alabama poker player secured his second title in this prestigious tournament, overcoming a field of 1,451 entries in the $1,700 buy-in event. With this win, Dean took home $326,206 and his third career WSOPC gold ring.
Dean’s success in the WSOPC Harrah’s Cherokee main event is not new. He first won this tournament in December 2022, earning his biggest payday of $356,963. His most recent victory marks the second-largest cash of his career, adding to his impressive tournament earnings, which now total nearly $1.7 million. Much of this success has come from his consistent performance in WSOPC events.
Dean’s first WSOPC ring came in 2016 when he won a $360 buy-in tournament at Harrah’s Cherokee. With this latest triumph, he now has three WSOPC rings in his collection.
The strong turnout for this $1.5 million guaranteed event resulted in a final prize pool of nearly $2.2 million, with 213 players cashing in. Among the notable players who made deep runs were 2023 WSOP main event champion Daniel Weinman, who finished 28th, four-time ring winner Bradley Mercer, who placed 25th, and bracelet winner Russell Brooks, who came in 10th.
