The Four Queens Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas is embarking on a $24 million renovation of its North Tower, aiming to bring a modern touch to the historic venue. Announced on Monday, the extensive project will upgrade facilities that have been largely unchanged since 1966.
Tim Lager, the general manager of Four Queens, shared with the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the renovation will involve a complete overhaul of the North Tower. “It was time for us to go in, especially for our systems, like plumbing and HVAC,” Lager explained. “We can gut it and make it all fresh.”
Upgrades and Enhancements
The renovation will introduce numerous improvements, including new closet organizers, carpets, and furnishings. Importantly, the project will update HVAC and plumbing systems to ensure better efficiency and reliability. Lager highlighted that the renovation will also address common guest complaints by creating larger bathrooms and installing sound-dampening windows to reduce noise from the nearby Fremont Street Experience.
The North Tower consists of 300 rooms, which will be unavailable during the renovation. However, the hotel’s South Tower, which contains 400 rooms, will remain open. The South Tower recently underwent its own updates and will not be part of the current project.
Renovations commenced in June, with the work expected to take 12 to 15 months. The goal is to have the North Tower fully operational by next summer, restoring the Four Queens to its full room capacity. This project represents a significant investment in the hotel’s future, ensuring that it remains a desirable destination for visitors to downtown Las Vegas.
By modernizing its facilities, the Four Queens Hotel and Casino aims to enhance the guest experience while preserving the charm that has made it a staple in Las Vegas since the 1960s.
