Final Table Ready for 2024 WSOP Main Event

Nine players are set to compete for the $10 million first-place prize in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event on July 16.

The 2024 WSOP Main Event, the largest ever with 10,112 participants, has its final table scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, at 1:30 p.m. PST at Horseshoe Las Vegas in Nevada.

Final Nine

Nine players advanced on Day 9, each guaranteed at least $1 million. The champion will take home $10 million and a prestigious bracelet.

Jordan Griff leads with 143.7 million chips. The Scottsdale, Arizona native surged on Day 8, securing his spot. Previously, Griff’s highest live tournament earnings were under $50,000.

Following him, Brian Kim and Niklas Astedt hold 94.6 million and 94.2 million chips, respectively. Kim has earned over $7.3 million in live tournaments and already won a WSOP gold bracelet. Astedt, from Sweden, boasts over $50 million in online poker winnings. This event marks his largest live tournament cash prize.

Joe Serock is fourth with 83.6 million chips. Serock, the all-time money leader in New Mexico, has a WSOP gold bracelet from the 2023 $500 online PLO 8-Max event.

Canadian Jason Sagle sits fifth with 67.3 million chips. Sagle’s lifetime earnings exceed $1.5 million. His best previous result was second place at the 2006 North American Poker Championship in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Boris Angelov, with 52.9 million chips, made significant moves on Day 8. This is Angelov’s largest live tournament earning, surpassing his runner-up finish for $663,565 in April.

Jonathan Tamayo, Malo Latinois, and Andres Gonzalez round out the final table. Tamayo holds 26.7 million chips and finished 21st in the 2009 WSOP Main Event. Latinois nearly missed the final table but secured his spot on Day 8. The Parisian’s lifetime earnings were $96,515 before this event.

Gonzalez has 18.3 million chips. He made a strong push on Day 8 to qualify. Earlier this year, he finished third in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event, earning over $200,000.

The 2024 WSOP series will conclude on Wednesday, July 17, when the Main Event champion is crowned.
