Calvin Anderson secured his fifth World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet by winning the $10,000 eight-game championship. The Las Vegas poker pro outperformed a field of 189 entries, claiming the top prize of $413,446.
This victory makes Anderson one of only 41 players in WSOP history with five or more bracelets. The eight-game format, which includes many popular poker variants, made this win particularly meaningful for Anderson. his first bracelet win was ten years ago, all the way in 2014 when he won the $1,500 Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo for $190,538
“You’re playing a bunch of different games against all of the top players. I played against tons of really, really good players along the way. I ran good, but I think I played really well too. There are a lot of spots where I’m super happy with the way that I played. Feels good to do all of the things right,” Anderson told reporters.
This win is the third-largest in Anderson’s career, pushing his lifetime earnings to nearly $7.2 million.
The tournament spanned three days, taking place alongside the 2024 WSOP main event. With 189 entries, the prize pool reached $1,757,700, distributed among the top 29 finishers. Notable deep runs included Chris Brewer (16th), Maxx Coleman (13th), Danny Wong (12th), Adam Friedman (11th), Yuri Dzivielevski (10th), Maksim Pisarenko (9th), Gus Hansen (8th), and Andres Korn (7th).
