The iconic Bellagio in Las Vegas is set to undergo a significant expansion, as detailed in documents recently submitted to Clark County. According to a local news report from KTNV, the project, aptly named ‘Project Mojave,’ will add 400,000 square feet of entertainment and retail space on the south side of Bellagio Drive.
The expansion plans include several notable changes to the existing property. These renovations will affect the Bellagio’s entrance lobby, the ground-level bus drop-off area, and the current parking garage. The submitted documents highlight the design’s intention to maintain access to the existing porte cochère, drop-off, taxi queues, and parking garages.
Enhancing the Bellagio Experience
The new development aims to elevate the Bellagio’s offerings with a variety of new amenities. The proposed updates include retail shops, personal services, bars, restaurants with outdoor dining options, a dayclub and nightclub, recreational facilities, and live entertainment venues. This broad range of additions is designed to enhance the overall guest experience and attract more visitors.
In addition to the expansion, the Bellagio recently undertook a significant renovation of its Spa Tower. This $110 million project, announced last year, involved updating all 819 guest rooms and 104 suites. The renovation featured custom furnishings from Champalimaud Design, in collaboration with the MGM Resorts International Design Group. Inspired by the serene beauty of Italy’s Lake Como, the refreshed interiors aim to offer a luxurious and tranquil retreat for guests.
The Bellagio has a history of blending luxury with innovation. Last November, it hosted the Winners Stage for the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix at the Bellagio Fountain Club. Following this event, the casino restored its original landscaping by replacing the trees in front of the property.
