Dario Sammartino Finally Earns His First WSOP Bracelet in 2024

Dario Sammartino, an accomplished poker pro, has long sought a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet. He even finished second in the 2019 WSOP Main Event, good for a $6 million payday. He also had another runner-up finish and ten other top-five finishes in bracelet events.

Nevertheless, his time finally came as Sammartino achieved his goal in Event#61, the 2024 WSOP $2,500 mixed Omaha eight-or-better and stud eight-or-better event. He came out on top from a field of 507 entries, securing his first bracelet and a prize of $222,703.

With this win, Sammartino’s career tournament earnings now exceed $17.4 million, solidifying his position at the top of Italy’s all-time money list. He has a $4.6 million lead over the second-ranked Mustapha Kanit.

The event’s $1,128,075 prize pool was divided among the top 77 finishers. Among the notable players who went deep were 2005 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Hachem (37th), five-time bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi (31st), bracelet winner Yueqi Zhu (29th), five-time bracelet winner Benny Glaser (23rd), bracelet winner Joey Couden (7th), Matt Vengrin (6th), Jeff Madsen (4th), and David Williams (3rd).
