Josh Reichard Wins 2024 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown

Josh Reichard has clinched his first major title by winning the 2024 World Poker Tour (WPT) Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. The seasoned player, known for his 15 World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) rings, bested a field of 1,859 entrants in the $3,500 buy-in event. He earned $839,300, bringing his career earnings to over $4 million.

Reichard faced Landon Tice in a tense heads-up battle, ultimately defeating him to claim the top prize. Tice took home $550,000 for his runner-up finish. Reflecting on his win, Reichard said, “The friends and family definitely are what makes me rich, it’s not even close. And it was great. I mean, couldn’t have done it without them. It’s more than double my career high score. All my titles [to this point] are minor league titles. This is a major league title. It feels great to finally break through and have a win of this magnitude.”

The tournament began on April 19 at Seminole Hard Rock in Florida. The final six players then moved to the WPT studio in Las Vegas to play down to the winner. Reichard faced strong competition at the final table, including Aaron Kupin (6th, $176,000), Dylan Smith (5th, $230,000), Alexander Queen (4th, $305,000), and Jesse Lonis (3rd, $410,000).

With this victory, Reichard is currently tied for the second most WSOP Circuit titles with 15 rings, though he has yet to win a WSOP bracelet. He nearly achieved this milestone in 2023, finishing second in the $1,000 buy-in Mini Main Event. Reichard, from Janesville, WI, also holds wins at the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour and the Moneymaker Tour.
