The Commerce Casino & Hotel has named Jamie Gold as the Team Captain and Coach for its professional poker team. Gold will lead the team at the upcoming WSOP 2023/2024 circuit in Los Angeles and the $100 million WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas this July. Gold, a legendary poker figure, brings his vast expertise to the team.
Known for his strategic prowess and aggressive play, Gold has garnered attention from outlets like ESPN and Forbes. As an ambassador, he has hosted and worked with 360 major celebrity charity events, raising over $600 million for various causes. Gold is especially committed to ALS research in memory of his father, Dr. Robert Gold.
Before his poker fame, Gold managed an entertainment company representing talents like Jimmy Fallon, James Gandolfini, Donnie Wahlberg, Brandy, and Felicity Huffman. His poker career took off in 2006 when he won the WSOP Main Event, outlasting 8,773 entrants to claim a $12,000,000 prize. His victory, featuring his habit of eating blueberries at the final table, remains one of the most memorable in WSOP history.
