ECA Sets Stage for Largest Ever Assembly of Casino Industry Experts

The European Casino Association (ECA) is bracing for what it expects to be a landmark event in the casino industry, with ICE 2025 set to debut in Barcelona from January 20th to 22nd. The association foresees a surge in attendance from professionals across the casino sector.

Hermann Pamminger, Secretary General of the ECA, expressed excitement about the upcoming ICE event’s relocation to Barcelona. He noted a “growing sense of anticipation” among industry players, highlighting the significance of the move from its traditional London venues.

Pamminger stated, “ICE has served the industry superbly well… The momentous decision to relocate to a new and much bigger venue in an exciting vibrant city on mainland Europe has captured the imagination of the ECA and its members.”

Strategic Planning for Industry Engagement

The ECA’s Board of Directors, comprising seasoned representatives from Europe’s licensed and land-based casino sector, is strategically planning its presence in Barcelona. Their aim is to address operational issues, promote industry awareness among EU policymakers, and engage stakeholders effectively.

With 700 casinos in 29 countries under its umbrella, the ECA is witnessing heightened enthusiasm among its members for the upcoming ICE gathering. Pamminger highlighted the unprecedented interest, particularly from UK members eager to explore Barcelona’s potential for industry interaction.

“I believe that the move to Barcelona will accelerate the number of casino executives and buyers from across Europe attending,” said Pamminger. He emphasized the relocation as a pivotal moment for Europe’s land-based casino industry, promising a landmark celebration at ICE 2025. “Every successful brand needs to evolve and the relocation will dawn a new era of opportunity for Europe’s land-based casino industry. ICE 2025 promises to be a landmark celebration and the excitement amongst our members is palpable.”

ICE 2025 marks a significant expansion, with a record 1,000 exhibitors representing diverse sectors and jurisdictions. The event, along with the co-located iGB Affiliate, will occupy 120,000 square meters at The Gran Via, Barcelona, compared to the 100,000 sqm in London.

In addition to the exhibition, the ECA plans to enhance its schedule of formal meetings and events during ‘ICE’ week, catering to the heightened interest and networking needs of attendees.
