In order to prepare for an integrated casino offering at the hotel under new management, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, a member of the Curio Collection by Hilton, and Mohegan have revealed plans for a transition phase.
The transition phase is expected to expire by the end of 2024 and is being managed by Cliff Atkinson, President of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. There shouldn’t be any major hiccups throughout the handover procedure, so guests and team members should expect a smooth transition.
Partnership Evolution
Mohegan President and CEO Ray Pineault expressed gratitude for the partnership with Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, highlighting its positive impact on guests and team members. He said, “Mohegan’s partnership with Virgin Hotels Las Vegas was, upon inception, and is today in the very best interest of the guests and hard-working team members whose patronage and contributions to the business are deeply appreciated.”
Pineault further added, “While Mohegan’s role will come to an end, we are confident that the resort’s unwavering focus on guest and team member satisfaction will continue.”
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas boasts 1,500 rooms and suites across three towers, a 60,000 sq ft casino and sportsbook, a sprawling five-acre pool area, and an array of dining options including the renowned Nobu restaurant.
Cliff Atkinson, who assumed the role of President at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in July 2023, emphasized the collaborative effort between Virgin Hotels and Mohegan to ensure a seamless transition. Atkinson’s extensive experience in the hospitality industry, including roles at the Luxor Hotel and Casino and MGM Resorts International, positions him well to oversee the transition process.
