In a historic $300 million agreement, Golden Matrix has completed the purchase of the B2C sports betting and gaming company MeridianBet.
After the original contract was signed on January 12, 2023, there were a number of detours and delays in the acquisition process. But the purchase was officially completed last month after receiving final clearance from the Golden Matrix Board of Directors and shareholders.
Expanding Global Presence
MeridianBet, a prominent player in the online sports betting and gaming arena, currently operates in 15 regulated markets spanning Africa, Europe, and South America. Discussions about alterations to the deal terms surfaced last summer, subsequently resulting in an increased transaction value, driven by MeridianBet’s robust performance.
More changes were made in October, when MeridianBet committed to provide $30 million to closure costs. Golden Matrix now has a far larger global presence, encompassing 17 nations on four continents, thanks to this purchase. The goal of the integration is to improve user experience and promote growth by combining Golden Matrix’s strong B2B infrastructure with MeridianBet’s B2C expertise.
Brian Goodman, CEO of Golden Matrix, expressed confidence over the acquisition’s potential to revolutionize the industry and anticipated significant growth in profits and sales. He underlined the company’s strategic posture for value creation and ongoing expansion, reiterating his confidence in achieving better results for stakeholders.
