Svenska Spel Announces Management Shake-Up

As part of a corporate reorganization effort, Svenska Spel, the massive state-owned gambling company in Sweden CEO Anna Johnson, has added new members to its management team. Lovisa Ekman and the seasoned Mikael Franzén will play crucial positions in the company.

Currently serving as director of IT, Mikael Franzén will take on the position of head of data-driven transformation and responsible gaming. As head of IT, Lovisa Ekman, who is presently in charge of corporate IT, will assume leadership of the organization’s IT operations.

Franzén started his career at Svenska Spel in 2018 as the vice president of B2B and was promoted to his present role in September 2019. Conversely, Ekman used to be the head of Information Technology.

Commencement of New Roles

Both Franzén and Ekman are slated to commence their new roles on April 1. Their appointments align with Svenska Spel’s overarching strategy to fortify its operational framework.

Erik Strand, serving as Svenska Spel’s interim CEO and president, extended a warm welcome to Franzén and Ekman in their new capacities, emphasizing their significance in steering the company forward. He highlighted their roles as integral to maintaining Svenska Spel’s competitive edge in the market.
