Ding, Barbero and Zhou Capture Titles at Triton Poker Jeju’s PLO Events

While the 2024 Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju predominantly featured no-limit hold’em (NLH) games across its 17 scheduled tournaments, there were a few other action-packed events. Following ten initial NLH events, the series ran three pot-limit Omaha (PLO) competitions before concluding with four short deck poker tournaments, of which the latter are still running. These PLO events attracted a total of 257 entries, distributing almost $7.9 million in winnings. Here’s an insight into the outcomes of these intense PLO matchups.

$25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Six Max

The opening PLO tournament was a six-handed affair with an entry fee of $25,000, attracting 89 participants and creating a $2,000,000 prize pool. Quan Zhou from China took home the title and a $530,000 prize, marking his largest win to date and propelling his live tournament earnings to just under $8 million. The event paid out to the top 13, with notable players like Isaac Haxton and Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero among the cash winners.

$30,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty Six Max

The subsequent $30,000 buy-in PLO six-max bounty event saw Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero clinching the win, adding $443,000 to his earnings. This triumph marked Barbero’s second Triton trophy, solidifying his reputation in the poker world. Throughout the series, Barbero consistently performed, earning a total of $749,500 across the three PLO events. His career earnings now exceed $17.5 million. Other notable players like Quan Zhou and Ole Schemion also finished in the money in this tournament, demonstrating their skill across multiple PLO events.

$50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Six Max

The series’ PLO games concluded with a $50,000 buy-in PLO six-max event, which drew 84 entries and a $4,200,000 prize pool. Biao Ding outperformed a competitive field to win $1,107,000 and secure his second Triton title. Ding’s victory came after several high placements in the series, including a second-place finish in a $150,000 NLH event. The final table featured poker elites such as Ole Schemion, Stephen Chidwick, and Phil Ivey, with Ivey narrowly missing out on his sixth Triton trophy, coming in second place.
