Netflix has moved into the slot machine world, with its massive hit “Squid Game”. In a partnership with gaming leader Light & Wonder, this new slot machine promises to draw fans to casino floors by 2024. Previewing at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas this week, attendees can get a first look at this slot based on the record-breaking series.
“Squid Game” broke Netflix records in 2021, with a staggering 1.6 billion hours viewed. Its success paved the way for a reality-show spin-off and an anticipated second season. With its new slot machine, the show’s challenges like Red Light, Green Light, Tug of War, and The Glass Tile become playable games, offering a grand prize between $200,000 and $400,000.
Light & Wonder’s slot machine is far from ordinary. The Squid Game slot will showcase on the Horizon cabinet, featuring a whopping 75-inch screen that expands to 90 inches and boasts 600,000 micro-LED pixels. Other amenities include integrated lighting, a touch screen, and even a mobile charger. An online version of the slot game is in the works.
