As the event wrapped up, the player count was whittled down from 374 hopefuls to a single champion. The tournament, with its diverse entry count, had pooled a generous £359,040 in prizes.
Newcastle’s young talent, Dylan Bradley, stood out from the rest. At only 22, he became the youngest finalist at the UKIPT London table. Despite his age, Bradley wasn’t new to the poker world, having sharpened his skills with online cash games before braving the Main Event. Victory came swiftly to him. In Bradley’s words, “It’s great, it’s nice to win. I just ran well on the final table, to be honest.” Elated with his win and £71,650 richer, Bradley also added, “It hasn’t really sunk in yet. It’s nice to get the trophy and take a winner’s photo. I might play more tournaments now!”
His gameplay was nothing short of dominant. Bradley commanded the table, being the force behind five out of the seven eliminations on Day 3. His impeccable performance led him to the face-off with Stephen Cherry. As the two Geordies battled it out, it wasn’t long before Bradley secured his title as the UKIPT London Main Event champion.
Stephen Cherry, relatively new to the tournament circuit with only a year’s experience, clinched the second spot. He expressed contentment with his impressive £44,700 purse for his runner-up finish. Rounding out the top three was Bojidar Boiadjiev. Despite operating on a short stack, he climbed the ladder to claim £31,930 for his efforts.
