PokerStars has rekindled its commitment to the poker community by relaunching the North American Poker Tour (NAPT). Fans and players can anticipate the series kickoff at Resorts World, Las Vegas, scheduled between November 4th and 12th. This series precedes the debut of the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 18, and among those racing is PokerStars’ ally, Oracle Red Bull Racing.
The NAPT lineup features notable events such as:
- A high roller tournament with a buy-in of $5,300 (from Nov. 10-12)
- The PokerStars Cup event at $550 (from Nov. 9-12)
- The spotlighted main event for $1,650 (from Nov. 6-11)
Steve Preiss, the VP for PokerStars North America, shared his excitement, “We’re eager to kick off the revamped NAPT in Las Vegas. We promise a stellar series for North America’s poker enthusiasts.”
Echoing this sentiment, Leon Wheeler, Director of Poker Operations at Resorts World Las Vegas, remarked, “With PokerStars, we’re excited to bring the NAPT back to Las Vegas at Resorts World. We anticipate players from worldwide will join us, trusting our top-notch facility to deliver an exceptional experience.”
Flashback to 2010: the NAPT made its debut. The highlight was the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. Barry Shulman from Card Player finished third, witnessing Harrison Gimbel winning over $2.2 million in the $10,300 buy-in tournament.
However, PokerStars had to halt the NAPT during its second season due to its US shutdown post poker’s Black Friday. While the first season saw seven events, the second season managed three before taking a 12-year break.
