Flutter Entertainment, through its startup collaboration initiative, Alpha Hub, today announced it is extending a global invitation to startup comapnies to join its effort in creating innovative solutions for societal betterment. The company has launched two distinct programs, namely the Flutter Tech4Good Award and the Flutter & RGC: Play Well Challenge. These initiatives align with Flutter’s Positive Impact Plan, emphasizing responsible gambling and robust community support.
The Tech4Good Award is centered around utilizing technology to tackle pressing social issues, whereas the Play Well Challenge, a collaborative effort with the Responsible Gambling Council, focuses on industry problem-solving. The latter aims to establish a safer gambling ambiance through innovative strategies.
Both programs are integral components of Flutter Entertainment’s Positive Impact Plan. The Plan leverages the company’s global footprint to accomplish sustainable goals, including:
Enhancing Communities: Flutter aspires to positively impact communities and improve 10 million lives by 2030. This mission will be achieved through sports, leisure activities, and the skills of the company’s workforce. Promoting Responsible Play: Flutter intends to have 75% of its active online users utilizing Play Well tools (including time, money, and education instruments such as deposit limits, activity statements) by 2030, with a milestone of 50% to be achieved by 2026. The Tech4Good Award welcomes global startups at any stage, using technology to address social problems. Flutter is specifically interested in startups focused on the needs of disadvantaged groups, with a scalable strategy and ability to measure the impact of their solution. Flutter seeks collaboration with entrepreneurs dedicated to societal upliftment through innovative tech solutions.
The Play Well Challenge seeks to promote a superior customer experience and address responsible gaming issues, with the intention of driving industry-wide progress. This initiative has won the endorsement of Responsible Gambling Council CEO, Shelley White, who stated, “RGC is proud to collaborate with Flutter on this significant program aimed at reducing gambling-related harm. The Flutter & RGC Play Well Challenge is poised to instigate substantial change in Responsible Gambling worldwide, thereby securing a safer gambling environment for countless individuals.”
