The 2023 World Series of Poker‘s Event #90: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em Championship, held at the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas, saw an impressive participation of 550 competitors. This large pool led to a whopping total prize of $5,155,000. The competition moved into an unplanned fourth and final day on Monday, July 17, with just four players returning to battle.
These four contenders had a guaranteed $306,555 each, but given their top-tier skills, the ultimate prize of $1,057,663 and the esteemed WSOP bracelet were the real goals.
France’s Alexandre Reard claimed the championship title after a swift 90-minute play, defeating British top money winner Stephen Chidwick in a heads-up match. This significant win allowed Reard to more than double his highest live cash and marked him as the first French player to secure two bracelets in No-Limit Hold’em.
With a 3:1 chip lead entering the heads-up, Reard showed no signs of faltering. The final hand saw Chidwick’s top pair flop overshadowed by Reard’s turned straight, bringing the game to its decisive end.
