The World Series of Poker (WSOP), known for being the most prominent and longest-standing poker series, is setting up for a winter extravaganza. Amidst the record-smashing heat of summer, WSOP has its eyes set on the serene beauty of the Bahamas, announcing a new live tournament poker series: WSOP Paradise. In association with GGPoker, this landmark series will be held from December 3 to 14, 2023, at the luxurious Atlantis Paradise Island.
This fresh series draws energy from the wave of success of the 54th annual WSOP, hosted at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip. With 15 bracelet events lined up, the WSOP Paradise has a staggering $50 million in guaranteed prize pools, highlighting the $5,000 Main Event and a $1,500 Mystery Bounty, each with respective total prize pool guarantees of $15 million and $5 million.
But WSOP Paradise isn’t just all about the traditional events. The series has something special in store for the High Rollers. A grand $100k event with a $5 million guarantee, a $50k event promising $2 million, twin Pot Limit Omaha events with seven-figure guarantees, and a standout $25,000 GGMillion$ event with an impressive $10 million total prize pool guarantee.
Ty Stewart, SVP & Executive Director of WSOP, expressed the high hopes for WSOP Paradise. He said, “The summer was an unprecedented success, but the vision is equally as ambitious for WSOP Paradise.” The robust alliance with GGPoker, the reigning online poker giant, is expected to bring a record number of qualifiers to this live tournament. Stewart further stated that the rich poker heritage of Atlantis complements their vision to establish a new powerful poker franchise.
GGPoker, which facilitated 774 players to the Main Event at the previous summer’s WSOP, has promised to send over 1,000 players to WSOP Paradise. The platform will offer online qualifiers and tournament promotions along with exclusive hotel rates for tournament players.
Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker Global Ambassador, expressed his excitement saying, “GGPoker is delighted to launch WSOP Paradise and welcome hundreds of players from all over the world to Atlantis Paradise Island this December.”
Atlantis Paradise Island is also embarking on a new phase. Joe Brunini, Chief Gaming & Customer Development Officer, said, “Atlantis’ 25th anniversary launches a new chapter for the resort, unveiling a multimillion-dollar transformation of the Atlantis Casino complemented by renovated guestrooms at The Royal and Michelin star chef dining experiences in time for the WSOP Paradise event.”
Further details about the series, including the full schedule of events, will be unveiled later this year.
