Louisiana’s gambling and entertainment scene is set to receive a high stakes upgrade, with the $85 million refurbishment of The Queen Baton Rouge. Known earlier as Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge, this land-based casino located in proximity to downtown Mississippi River, now carries an expanded area of over 100,000 square feet. The date is set for its grand reopening on August 24.
A New Dawn for Casino Gaming
Terry Downey, the CEO and President of The Queen Casino & Entertainment, is eagerly anticipating the reveal. The revamped casino encompasses an expansive gaming space of 30,000 square feet, both indoors and outdoors. It promises 731 gaming machines, 18 table games, and a variety of electronic table choices. An added bonus for guests is the LIT Casino & Bar, a designated smoking patio within the casino premises, which offers craft cocktails, wine, beer, and 150 gaming spots.
In a strategic partnership with DraftKings, a leading sports betting company, The Queen Baton Rouge will inaugurate an avant-garde retail DraftKings Sportsbook. It promises cutting-edge sports betting technology, including 20 kiosks and four betting windows. Guests can look forward to a contemporary design, a full bar, and an optimal sports viewing experience courtesy of a 28-foot video wall and oversized HD TVs.
New Dining Choices
A range of dining choices awaits guests at The Queen Baton Rouge. The 1717 restaurant promises an American dining experience with a twist, served alongside a bar featuring almost 40 HD TVs for sports enthusiasts. Additionally, The Loft at 1717 will offer indoor and outdoor spaces for private parties, additional dining, and a stunning sunset social hour view of the Mississippi River.
Among other culinary experiences, Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken offers signature crispy chicken sandwiches and tenders, while the Woks Noodle Bar presents authentic Pan-Asian cuisine. Capitol Coffee Baton Rouge, just a few steps from the casino floor, serves a variety of traditional brews, modern teas, and breakfast and lunch items.
Engaging Entertainment and Enhanced Amenities
The Queen Baton Rouge brings more to the table than just gaming, promising a vibrant entertainment line-up, including live music and performances at 1717. The venue also provides a spacious 6,000 square feet event area, capable of hosting over 500 guests.
The Queen Baton Rouge has also revamped its parking facilities, offering closer access to the entrance, wider spaces, and improved lighting. The main entrance, which features valet parking, is accentuated by an eye-catching porte cochere.
