Jeremy Ausmus Joins Elite Ranks with Sixth WSOP Championship Win

As the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) reaches its midway point, poker pro Jeremy Ausmus has shown to be a true force to be reckoned with, joining the elite ranks of players who have won six or more bracelets. Ausmus topped the WSOP Online $3,200 no-limit hold’em high roller event in the early hours of June 21, outplaying a field of 321 entries and claiming his sixth title at the series.

Ausmus’s achievement puts him among the select few in poker history who have earned such an impressive number of titles at the WSOP. Just a few weeks ago, Shaun Deeb became the 18th player to accomplish this feat with his victory in a $1,500 eight-game mix event.

Hailing from Las Vegas, Ausmus first made a name for himself in the WSOP in 2012 when he reached the final table of the main event, finishing in a commendable fifth place and pocketing over $2.1 million. The following year, he showcased his exceptional poker skills by claiming his first bracelet in a €1,650 pot-limit Omaha event at the 2013 WSOP Europe series.

Ausmus’s remarkable winning streak at the series began in 2021. During that summer, he secured two bracelets, triumphing in a $1,000 charity event before emerging as the champion of the $50,000 pot-limit Omaha high roller, which earned him a staggering prize of nearly $1.2 million.

Continuing his dominance in 2022, Ausmus added two more WSOP titles to his already impressive collection. He won a $3,000 limit hold’em six-max event and also took home a $365 buy-in no-limit hold’em event online, taking his bracelet count to five.

The high-stakes WSOP Online $3,200 no-limit hold’em high roller event was an arduous battle that lasted over 13 hours. With a total of 321 entries, only one player could become as the champion. Notable names who got deep into the tournament included bracelet winner and seven-time Triton Poker champion Jason Koon (14th), bracelet winner Boris Kolev (13th), bracelet winner Arkadiy Tsinis (11th), Tom Marchese (9th), 2021 WSOP main event champion Koray Aldemir (6th), three-time bracelet winner Chance Kornuth (4th), and bracelet winner Christopher Castiglia (2nd).

In the final hand, Castiglia, who won an online bracelet last year in a $500 buy-in turbo event, decided to make a bold move, shoving roughly nine big blinds with a suited 10-7 from the button. Ausmus swiftly called, revealing pocket kings and held his ground until the river, securing a set of kings to claim the pot and the well-deserved title. Castiglia, as the runner-up, earned $224,632 for his commendable performance.

With this latest bracelet win, Ausmus’s total recorded earnings exceed an impressive $16 million, with more than $7 million coming from his cashes in WSOP.
