The Asian Poker Tour (APT) is once again on the move, this time heading its Summer Series to the beautiful Faruma Beach Resort in Da Nang, Vietnam. From July 21 to July 31, the stunning beach resort will host 61 tournaments, 13 more than the APT’s last stop in Hanoi. This action-packed event is already set to go down in history, with players competing not just for sizeable prize pools but also the coveted “lion” trophies that have become a symbol of APT triumphs.
After a wildly successful series in Hanoi, which ended on June 4 with Dinh Duc Linh crowned as the Main Event Champion winning VND 3,401,355,000 (USD $145,500), the world of Asian poker is abuzz with anticipation. Can Linh keep up his impressive form and conquer the beautiful beaches of Da Nang as well? Only time will tell.
But it’s not just about the top-tier competition. The APT Da Nang Summer Series event is also about inclusivity. With a range of small, medium, and high buy-ins available, every level of player can get in on the action. The High Rollers are well catered for too, with a range of tournaments designed to whet their appetites and test their skills.
One key difference this year is the absence of the Player of the Series Competition. Despite this, iGaming.org will soon disclose who would have emerged victorious in the last series based on the points system previously used. This disclosure is set to bring a different dimension of competition to the APT, even if there isn’t a physical prize at stake.

But let’s dive back into the action. Here are some of the highlighted events for the APT Da Nang Summer Series:
The tournament kicks off on Friday, July 21, with Event 1: the APT Kickoff boasting a guaranteed prize pool of VND 1,500,000,000. This event offers two flights, A and B, with a buy-in of $473 (VND 10,000,000 + 1,000,000). The day also features a variety of other events, including a Single Day High Roller Freezeout, a 5 Card PL Omaha Hi-Lo tournament, and more.
The following days are just as jam-packed. From the Mystery Bounty Hunter tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of VND 2,000,000,000 to the APT Super High Roller, there’s a tournament for every taste. There’s even a Women’s Event on Wednesday, July 26, and a Micro Main Event on Sunday, July 30, for those looking for a less intense competition.
One of the biggest attractions is undoubtedly the APT Main Event with a jaw-dropping guaranteed prize pool of VND 12,000,000,000. The Main Event offers four flights spread across three days from Monday, July 24 to Wednesday, July 26, and culminates in the final day of competition on Saturday, July 29.
