The next twelfth annual Gaming in Holland Conference is set to address the major concerns affecting the Netherlands’ regulated gambling business. This event will bring together industry experts, regulators, and stakeholders on June 8 at the KIT Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam to discuss the latest developments and efforts in the Dutch gaming environment.
The conference comes at a key time for the Dutch gaming business, with the long-awaited prohibition on untargeted advertising of online gambling services set to take effect on July 1. The ban, which includes broadcast, print, and outdoor advertising, is expected to have a severe impact on online gambling providers and affiliates targeting the Netherlands. Recently published guidelines offer further light on the new advertising rules. Furthermore, the Dutch government has expressed interest in privatizing Nederlandse Loterij, the country’s largest state-owned gambling business, as well as imposing stricter deposit limitations.
The Gaming in Holland Conference will feature well-known speakers from the Dutch gambling business. René Jansen, Chair of the Netherlands Gambling Authority, and Fedor Meerts, Department Head Integrity and Gambling at the Ministry of Justice and Security, are among the speakers who will provide updates and clarifications on regulatory issues.
This year’s conference aims to foster a more sustainable gambling market by facilitating a deeper communication between the regulated gaming sector and care and prevention organizations. Floor van Bakkum, Prevention Manager at Arkin – Jellinek, and Nathalie Smit, CEO of the Netherlands’ national gambling helpline, Loket Kansspel, will speak with industry professionals on player protection. The conference aims to improve responsible gambling practices by encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Remy Gieling, a Dutch tech watcher, will give views on the function of artificial intelligence (AI) and ChatGPT in the online gambling industry. This seminar will dig into the potential applications of artificial intelligence technologies in boosting user experiences and responsible gambling initiatives. Attendees can expect to acquire useful insights into the industry’s developing AI ecosystem.
