In order to increase their presence in Macau, Sands China has made known that as part of the Cotai Expo Phase II development plans at Venetian Macau, it intends to build a new hotel tower. This development comes after Las Vegas Sands (LVS) and Sands China recently agreed to a $377 million brand licensing renewal deal for the following three years, allowing Sands China access to LVS’s trademarked brands.
New Hotel Tower to Enhance Cotai Expo
Sands China’s Cotai Expo show center will be strengthened by the addition of the new hotel tower, which will be integrated into the current Venetian Macau building. In an interview with the Macau Daily News, Dr. Wilfred Wong, President of Sands China, talked about the early stages of the Cotai Expo Phase II and the nearby French garden Le Jardin. Wong stated that the new hotel would rise above Sands Expo and might provide extra hotel rooms across an estimated area of 18,000 square meters while awaiting official government permission.
Meeting the Demand for Conferences and Meetings
In order to satisfy the growing demands of business clients, the additional space supplied by the new hotel tower will enhance the capacity for conferences and meetings now available. To address the rising demand, Wong emphasized the significance of improving its MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) capabilities through Cotai Expo Phase II. Inability to build a new hotel would make it difficult for Sands China to meet the needs of convention and exhibition events.
The Le Jardin Project’s evaluation
The Le Jardin project, which is expected to cover 50,000 square meters, is currently being assessed by a group of seasoned consultants. Sands The new hotel tower is slated to become yet another famous Macau monument, according to the president of China. The business must still wait for official government approval before moving forward with its grandiose plans.
Strong Performance and Future Prospects
Sands China seeks to improve its position in Macau and take advantage of the booming market. It now has about 12,000 rooms in its hotel inventory. Las Vegas Sands announced good success in the fourth quarter of 2022 and has provided more plans for the coming year, providing a promising sign for the region’s future growth and development.
