Entain, the global sports betting, gaming, and interactive entertainment group, is transforming its flagship Ladbrokes and Coral shops in the UK with its digital-first Digi-Hubs. The 100th Digi-Hub recently opened in Muirhouse, Scotland, marking another milestone in Entain’s ambition to open 200 Digi-Hubs by the end of 2024. These shops of the future feature a modernised look-and-feel, fitted with more digital touch points, interactive displays, and best-in-class sports betting and gaming terminals, providing dynamic content and experiences for customers. Since the first trial Digi-Hub opened in 2019, Entain has seen over 1 million gaming sessions and over 10 million sports bets take place in these digital-first shops.
According to Will Thorp, the Strategy Director – UK Retail at Entain, creating connected, digital experiences in shops is crucial to continue distinguishing the company as a market leader. Digi-Hubs help the company to innovate and excite customers, and the shops have been influential in attracting a new generation of customers to the high street. More online-first customers, who are typically more diverse than traditional betting customers, are coming into betting shops for the first time.
The Digi-Hubs’ success is supported by the improved customer offer through more digital touch points in shops and best-in-class sports betting and gaming terminals, resulting in UK retail NGR up 56% in 2022. As UK retail continues its resurgence after the pandemic lockdowns, Entain’s Digi-Hubs are helping to bring customers back to the high street. With Entain’s continued innovation and commitment to positive player experiences, the Digi-Hubs are set to remain an integral part of the company’s digital transformation strategy.
