Arizona Pascua Yaqui Tribe to Construct a New Casino in Tucson

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe, a federally recognized Yaqui Tribe situated in Arizona, has officially revealed its plan to construct a new casino in Tucson, Arizona, closer to the city center than any other local gaming facility.

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe is entitled to have one additional casino in addition to the two already under its authority under the provisions of a new gaming agreement between the State of Arizona and its 22 tribes, therefore there are plans for a new Tucson casino. The two existing casinos in Tucson are Casino del Sol and the Casino of the Sun.

A congressional bill granted Pascua Yaqui permission to utilize a historic movie theater structure that had been abandoned for years, as well as land around the facility, which is located on Grant near I-10.

Since it is the rightful owner of the land, the tribe may begin construction on the new casino right away.

With its strategic near I-10 position, the possible new casino will be the nearest casino to downtown Tucson, making it simpler for the casino to be seen by gamblers around the city. The will also impact the surrounding economic environment and is expected to lead to a boost in activity.
