Artistocrat 2022 Financial Results Boosted by Philippines Operations

According to Aristocrat Leisure Ltd, its international-markets business for ‘Class III’-standard casino slots increased post-tax earnings by AUD36.9 million [US$24.6 million] in its most recent fiscal year ended September 30.

The recovery was primarily a result of fresh, substantial openings in the Philippines, as Asian and European markets continued to emerge slowly from after Covid-19 lockdowns, according to the company’s annual report, which was submitted with the Australian Securities Exchange on Wednesday.

Profit margins in International Class III increased when Asian and European markets reopened, according to the company.

The overall International Class III segmental margin was 36.6 percent as a proportion of revenue. According to the company, the negative 20.9 percent segmental margin in 2021 was due to the fact that these markets were effectively closed during the reporting year.

International Class III revenue and profit climbed 140.5 percent and 521.3 percent, respectively, to AUD108.0 million and AUD39.6 million, owing to new openings in the Philippines and the reopening of the EMEA region, according to Aristocrat Leisure. Border closures, however, continued to have an impact on operator gaming revenue and capital spending budgets throughout Europe and Asia over the time.
